Abstract The calculation of the long-term dynamic bearing capacity arises from need to consider generation maximum pore-water pressure developed a cyclic load. Under suitable conditions, equilibrium situation would be reached, when pressures stabilized. However, excess can lead softening. Consequently, it is necessary define both cohesion and internal friction angle calculate foundation in long term, being incorporate influence self-weight soil therefore width foundation. present work based on an analysis results simple shear tests samples port El Prat Barcelona. From these experimental data, formulation was obtained that implemented FLAC2D finite difference software. A methodology for load footing resist before occurrence type studied contractive cohesive soil, which generates positive pressures. As numerical result, design charts have been were validated with application real case study.
